ATG’s Independent Footloose walking holidays are in some of the most interesting areas of Europe, and are managed by ATG Route Managers in each area. Routes are selected for the quality of walking and for outstanding places of interest.
What’s included?
On each Independent route there is an ATG Route Manager, who is there to take care of all the practicalities and ensure the success of your trip. Route Managers have all been ATG-trained, speak English and the language of the country fluently, and live in the local area.
What will your Route Manager do?
With all the practicalities taken care of you’re free to relax and enjoy your holiday….
The ATG Route Book
This your detailed, day-to-day guide. The book anticipates your needs with easy-to-follow instructions, maps, town plans and other information that will guide you to discover the best that the area has to offer and is the key to the success of an independent holiday with us.
“The route book’s background information and recommendations are invaluable and contribute materially to the enjoyment of the holiday.”
Walking App
You can also follow the route using GPS navigation if you wish. Your Route Manager will provide information on downloading the walking app pre-set with your route. You can use this digital support to both navigate and find your position on the route, even without an internet connection or mobile phone reception.
You will be booked in to carefully selected accommodation – often in historical towns and villages and always conveniently located for travellers on foot.
On many Footloose routes there is a choice of upgraded accommodation which includes upgraded hotels or upgraded rooms where available and as specified in each individual itinerary.
The type of rooms booked varies according to the hotels’ room classifications and where there is no upgrade option available, all accommodation is at the same hotel, in the same standard of room.
In almost all instances breakfast is included, and at some hotels, usually remote ones, dinner is also included. Meals included are specified on each trip page.
