Travelling with Children

Our Independent trips are also excellent family holidays… and an ideal introduction to real travel.

Most children over the age of 10 can manage the walking and enjoy the adventure of a journey on foot. We’d generally suggest our easy to moderate grade walks for children although older teens may cope with our more challenging walks. Give them the Route Book or Walking App and let them guide you!

You can, of course, opt not to walk full days and many of our walks have additional activities which would appeal to children – whether that’s hiring a bike, swimming, boat trips or other outdoor experiences. See the Add-ons section on each trip page for suggested activities available locally on each route.

Persons under the age of 18 are eligible for a 10% discount on the basic cost (excluding single rooms) of any Footloose trip and most hotels have family rooms or triple rooms if you would like your children to share a room with you. The discount will be applied on receipt of your booking.
