The recommended airports for this route are Marseille and Avignon.
7-day route: From Vitrolles station at Marseille airport, there are regular trains to L’Isle sur la Sorgue (1 hour ~€15). From here you can either take a taxi to Fontaine de Vaucluse (15 mins, ~€17); or an hourly bus (18 mins, ~€2). A taxi from Marseille to Fontaine costs ~€150. From Avignon airport we recommend taking a taxi to the first hotel (30 mins, €75) as onward connections are infrequent. From Marseille and Avignon central (and Avignon TGV) stations, there are several trains/ train & bus combinations daily to L’Isle sur la Sorgue.
5-day route: From Vitrolles station at Marseille airport, there are regular trains to Cavaillon (50 mins, €16.30), from where a taxi to Gordes costs €45). A taxi from Marseille to Gordes costs ~€145. From Avignon airport we recommend taking a taxi to the first hotel (30 mins, €60) as onward connections are infrequent.

Grade 1
Gentle terrain, walking/cycling along good paths, tracks and quiet lanes, with a few short, usually gentle, ascents and/or descents.

Walking/cycling along well-established paths and tracks. Occasional loose (gravel) surfaces, and open meadows. Ascents and/or descents up to 1 hour.

Walking/cycling along a variety of paths, some stony in places, with ascents and/or descents of 1-2 hours.
